THE TWENTIETH COLLOQUIUMFEST Speaker: Jolanta Marzec Title: On properties of standard L-functions of Jacobi forms Abstract: There is no doubt about the great importance of modular forms in modern mathematics. At the same time, Jacobi forms - though very closely related - seem to be less known. This is partially due to the fact that they do not easily fit into Langlands' philosophy nor correspond to Shimura varieties. They rather occur on a 'boundary' of these theories and are involved behind the scenes. However, as we will explain after a gentle and clarifying introduction, this turns out to be enough for their L-functions to satisfy good analytic and algebraic properties. The talk is based on joint work with Thanasis Bouganis.
