MINOR in STATISTICS

 

A Minor in Statistics may be taken in conjunction with a Major or Honours program in any other subject, including Mathematics.

It is available as part of both B.Sc. and B.A. programs.

 

The requirements for students with a Major or Honours in any subject except Economics are:

 

 18 c.u. or more of courses made up as follows:

  One of STATS 103.3 or STATS 241.3

 A course in Linear Algebra
(such as MATH 264.3, 266.3 or 358.6)

  An introductory course or courses in Statistical Methodology
(such as one of STATS 242.3, STATS 245.3, STATS 246.3,
STATS 244.3+SOC 240.3, ECON 204.6, PSY 233.3+234.3,
PL SC 314.3, COMM 104.3+207.3, GE 210.3)

  All of STATS 344.3, STATS 345.3 and STATS 348.3

 

 

The requirements for students with a Major or Honours in Economics are:

 

 MATH 110.3 + 116.3

MATH 264.3 or 266.3 (preferred) or ECON 305.3

MATH 225.3 (preferred) or ECON 306.3

STATS 241.3

ECON 204.6  and  ECON 404.6

STATS 345.3  and  STATS 348.3

Comment:  Some of the above courses will also form part of a student’s

Major or Honours program in Economics.
