SUGGESTED PROGRAM for a 4-YEAR B.Sc. degree achieving
MAJORS in each of MATHEMATICS and STATISTICS

[Note: A student following this program may choose to receive the B.Sc. degree with a Major in

either Mathematics or Statistics. The College does not grant degrees with two Majors.]

A. 45 c.u. of STATS & MATH Courses (see E. and F. below)	MATH 110.3, 116.3 MATH 225.3 or 276.3, 266.3 STATS 241.3 plus A. All of STATS 242.3, 342.3, 344.3, 345.3, 348.3 B. One of STATS 341.3, 346.3, 349.3, 442.3, 443.3 C. 12 c.u. from MATH 211.3, 226.3 or 238.3, 258.3, 277.3 or any 300- or 400-level MATH course.
B. Other Required Courses	CMPT 111.3 (or 112.3), 115.3
C.  Recommendations	Students are encouraged to include other courses in Mathematics, Statistics, and areas of application within their programs. Courses in Computer Science and Economics are felt to be useful electives.
D. Other Requirements	6 c.u. in each of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Languages, and Humanities (these are usually at the 100-level). Another 6 c.u. of Social Sciences, Humanities or Fine Arts. Elective courses to bring total number of c.u. to 120 subject to: at most 54 c.u. at 100-level (or at least 66 c.u. at 200- or higher level), and at most 60 c.u. in one subject*.
E. MATH Major	MATH 110.3, 116.3 MATH 225.3 or 276.3, 266.3 STATS 241.3 plus A. 9 c.u. from STATS 242.3, 341.3, 342.3, 344.3, 345.3, 346.3, 348.3, 349.3, 442.3, 443.3 B. 12 c.u. from MATH 211.3, 226.3 or 238.3, 258.3, 277.3 or any 300- or 400-level MATH course. Note: Must include at least 12 c.u. at the 300- or 400-level.
F. STATS Major	MATH 110.3, 116.3 MATH 225.3 or 276.3, 266.3 STATS 241.3 plus A. All of STATS 242.3, 342.3, 344.3, 345.3, 348.3 B. One of STATS 341.3, 346.3, 349.3, 442.3, 443.3 C. 3 c.u. from MATH 211.3, 226.3 or 238.3, 258.3, 277.3 or any 300- or 400-level MATH or STATS course.

*NOTE: For purposes of this program, courses in Statistics and Mathematics
may be considered as being in different subjects.
