PURE MATHEMATICS

The Honours program with concentration in Pure Mathematics prepares a student for graduate study to pursue a research career in mathematics at educational institutions. The main branches of Pure Mathematics are Algebra (studying the consequences of various systems for manipulating mathematical symbols), Analysis (studying the properties of infinite progressions and their limits), and Geometry/Topology (studying properties of shape, connectedness, and continuity of various mathematical objects). Someone interested in becoming a mathematician is advised to learn the basic concepts of all these branches since much current mathematical research involves interplay among them.

RECOMMENDED PROGRAM for a 4-YEAR HONOURS in PURE MATHEMATICS
