APPLIED MATHEMATICS

The Honours program with concentration in Applied Mathematics is intended for students who have a keen interest in applying mathematical techniques to solve problems arising in physics, engineering, astronomy, hydrology, etc. Under this program, a student has the option to concentrate in classical Applied Mathematics (courses related to theoretical physics), Numerical Methods (courses related to providing computer solutions to mathematical problems arising in engineering and other fields), or Discrete Mathematics (courses related to combinatorics and optimization problems arising in physics, chemistry, management science, and operations research, etc.).
