Welcome, dear reader, to
The Valuation Theory Home Page
This home page is intended to be a forum for all mathematicians
who work in valuation theory or apply valuation theoretical results
in their own field of research. The home page offers:
- pdf-, ps- or dvi-files of
theses, and lecture notes in valuation theory
- information about
- names and email
of mathematicians working in or with
valuation theory, and, if possible, links to their home pages
- a comprehensive
as Bibtex-, dvi- and postscript file, which presently contains 770
- a page for
problems and, hopefully, their solutions,
in connection with valuation theory,
- some useful
- a page for
information and related questions,
- a page with links and background materials about Bibliometry, open access journals, article processing charges.
If you have suggestions, questions, ideas, news, or if you want your
name and address on the above mentioned list, or if you have a recent
paper in or applying valuation theory, then write to
fvk [at] math.usask.ca
With great sadness we have to inform you of the death of our colleague, collaborator and dear friend Murray Marshall. He suffered a heart attack on Wednesday, April 29, from which he did not recover. Murray passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015. He was 75 years old, but still very active in research and the supervision of graduate students until the end.
A short obituary together with information about the funeral on Tuesday, May 5, can be found
And here you can find Murray's own web site.
In the year 2000 we honored Murray on occasion of his 60th birthday with a small conference which we called "Colloquiumfest". There were many limericks about Murray created on the occasion of the conference; they provide wonderful portraits of the great mathematician and friend we have now lost.
This conference was the start of the Colloquiumfest series. It is very unfortunate that we were not able anymore to celebrate Murray's 75th birthday with a Colloquiumfest.
If anyone would like to write something about Murray, describing his mathematical work or sharing personal anecdotes, please send it to us and we will put it on the Valuation Theory Home Page. Here is a web page with the first contributions:
Proceedings of the 2nd International Valuation Theory Conference published
In September of 2014, the Proceedings
were published. Click here for:
